It seems worthwhile posting a quick poll, to see who's using what type of power cord.

The poll is split by geography (since different connectors may mean that cables have more/less impact) and by Stock Linn vs. Aftermarket cord.

If you use multiple types of card (e.g. stock linn cord to power amps, but Lejonklou Power One to source components) please select multiple options.

If you are using an aftermarket cord, please add a post to say what you're using, and if possible, why you changed.

Thanks!
For my own system:

A mix of stock Linn UK cables and various other cables. All equipement has been bought second hand, some with original cables, others with alternative cables. None of them are "Special HiFi Cables" of any sort.
I use cords I made myself from Supra Lo-Rad 2.5mm2 cable, Wattgate IECs and MK Toughplugs.

The aim was to create a high current capacity cord.

The general engineering advice was from a major UK Linn dealer plus principles by Ben Duncan (you can google him together with 'mains').

I use Lejonklou "Power One" power cords.
Tried all different Linn cords (and a few other brands) and Power One is the most musical I ever heard. Just 35€

I must admit that I'm very tempted by the Power One even though I live in the UK. I could connect them to a European extension block and just change its plug to a UK one. I'd then benefit from the Power One's superior musicality plus the added benefit of removing the fuse that's in each of the UK Linn leads as is required here in the UK. Only question mark is whether the Power One lead will work so well on UK mains as its obviously optimised for European mains. Hmmm...

I use Chord PowerChords from a Music Works block. If I had the money I would seriously consider Siltech.
I use a mix of stock Linn cords and others with reasonable 'heft' (i.e. not thin) plugged into a Belkin surge/spike suppressor/protector. Sounds equally great with protector in or out, so I leave it in.
seems like that 2/3 use stock cables and 1/3 uses aftermarket cables. Has anyone heard about the new Naim power line?

It seems to be getting good reviews but I suspect the IEC connector would be too big for the Klimax cases.

Rolled my own from Kimber 4PR and 8PR with a safety ground coiled around them and then wrapped in techflex with Hubbell plugs. Even my s/o who rolls her eyes at most upgrades heard the difference in clarity. To me the music was less fatiguing, like a layer of grain in the lower treble had been toned down, especially on digital. It won't change your life, but it's worth the investment and it's fun to DIY.
