Hi All,
I just wanted to let you know that I have removed SongBook from the App Store due to delays in getting version 1.0.1 approved. This is a temporary thing, it will be for sale again, but I don't know how long it will take.
I have more details here
on my website, but the short version of the story is that version 1.0 does not allow sufficient time for device discovery on all networks. Version 1.0.1 does, but due to various minor and in some cases incorrect issues, Apple has not yet approved version 1.0.1 for sale.
For those of you keeping count, version 1.0 was approved for sale in 1 day. So far version 1.0.1 has taken 2 weeks and I expect will be at least 1 week longer.
If you have purchased a copy and are having problems please send me an email and I will send you an updated version of the code directly.
I'll keep you up to date with progress. I expect to submit a new version of the code later today, then it's back to waiting for a response.
A couple more things, if you do email me requesting a copy of the latest code please send me your device id. I need this to generate a thing Apple calls a provisioning profile which is a cryptographically signed file that allows SongBook to run on your specific device. Details on finding your device id (it's not your serial number), can be found
here.
The other thing I wanted to say is thanks for all your support through this. Without exception everyone has been very understanding and patient. This has helped a lot as at times this has been quite stressful for me, and frustrating for others I am sure. I am working as quickly as I can to get the issues resolved, and have even had some time for improvements based on your comments, so progress has not completely stopped due to this delay.
My email address is

Congratulations to Apple for screwing it up for its customers. Do they really want people to switch to Android?
Jason,
I am among the (non-) users of SongBook, who have it on their iPod Touch but not finding the Majik DS. I am very sorry for You, that You have that much trouble with the app.
After all, it went like always in software development: You have coded, improved, tested, but after the release some more problems showed up. You have solved them and published an update.
And then came Apple...
Funny enough, I had originally planned to start a thread in which I wanted to ask, if we should start an email action to Apple to make that whole process a bit faster. But that does not seem to be necessary now any more.
The most important thing now is, that You don't get too dissapointed. You have developed a great app, as far as I have played with it so far, and the Linn community is putting a lot of hopes on You.
And, as far as Apple is concerned: The have nice hardware and software - but the company itself has as many f*cking bureaucrates and assholes as others (I mean, except Linn, for sure;-)) - we just have to live with it.
Jason, keep on rocking (and coding!),
and thanks for Your help!
Tom

Hi Jason,
I second that! Keep up the excellent work! We are all behind you on this one.

Jason had sent me version 1.0.2 of Songbook as I have not been able to get Songbook, which I bought at the end of October, to find my KDS. I could not get version 1.0.2 installed on my iPod.
Earlier today I started the process of getting my money back - it was very difficult to find how to get a refund for software that does not work on the Apple iTunes site. I had to ring UK support for help. I have now registered the problem with Apple asking for my money back.
20 mins ago Jason sent me version 1.0.3 which I was able to install on my iPod. However, it has been running for 10 mins, and it is still not finding my KDS.

That sounds as if the problem was somewhere diffrent. As far as I know, in all other cases the problem was solved with the new version.
It is a pity for You, as SongBook is a nice piece of software, and - though I still see a lot of room for improvements - it has enriched my life with the DS a lot...

I too have just tried version 1.0.3 and whereas previous versions found my Klimax and Sneaky DSs the new version finds none of them.
EDIT: I've just restored 1.0.2 and it found my DSs first time...

Ooops... I might want to keep 1.0.2 for the moment...?
Flatcoat,
Have to sympathise with your experience - have been through it - BUT version 1.0.2 worked on my setup - after a bit of effort. It is a very good product so I would recommend you stick with it and try and get it working.
Presumably you have have LinnGui and PlugPlayer working ?
If so, its possible the issue is something to do with your own setup.
Sounds like you should attempt to get 1.0.2 working - given previous feedback. One suggestion I have is that you run LinnConfig and make sure that you only have one source (KDS) set up and poss even take any amp out of the setup as well. Are you getting any source showing up on the Rooms screen ?
