What are the chances of BBC Radio (Radio 1-5) being available over the internet. If it is likely, what timescale are we looking at ?

Heard on the Radio (FM) today that the BBC are starting to broadcast some of their TV programs 'Live' over the internet, so maybe internet radio not far away.

Does raise another issue about licence fees. If you dan't have a TV but have a PC with internet access does this mean they will come after you for licence money?

Cheers, Bill.

? All BBC radio channels (including 'Listen Again') are available over the internet already...

I listen to it Squeezebox via the Alien BBC plug-in (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/ram/r3g2.rpm).

There are other more direct ways to access it (e.g. Radio 1 : mms://wmlive-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms/radio1/radio1_nb_e1s1). Unfortunately, these particular channels are a very poor 48 kbps.

As the law currently stands, yes, although it's hard to see how they could enforce it, as anyone with internet access could receive a broadcast. Unless they require a registration that is cross-checked with TV licensing I suspect they will have to either amend the relevant law or change the enforcement guidelines.
