Ok,

Somewhat cheeky, but I think we need a Linn used kit forum.

Whilst Linn may initially baulk at this idea, can I suggest that the folllowing is worth considering

a) This could easily become the place to look for Linn kit - this would give Linn a unique insight into the 2nd user values of its own kit, vital for future pricing etc
b) It would help Linn be recognised as truly open
c) This kit *is* being sold already on eBay (etc), and of course for every 2nd user piece of kit sold, there is somewhere up the chain the purchase of a new piece of kit
d) In time, I'm sure dealers would post ex-dem kit here (if encouraged), which means they would be able to stock the latest kit, thus selling more of it.
e) Linn could even sell of its old stuff
f) It could be a good place for dealers to sell part-ex kit, which helps them be part of any part-ex promotion that Linn does from time to time

In summary, old kit is being sold on eBay, etc etc, so Linn adding a forum wont change that - so it is only (in my view) beneficial

Thank you

Richard

I one stop shop to purchase now end of line Linn products from Linn themselves at fair prices would be very welcome Cool

I have to concur with the above. There should be a Linn Classifieds section here. Buyers and sellers can rate eachother after transactions so others can know who to trust and who not to trust. It would also keep used values higher than eBay I think. And I wouldd much rather buy from a Linne enthusiast than from eBay (where the seller may not be such an enthusiast).

please add such a section - I want to legitimately sell my existing Linn equipment and place wanted ads for its replacement!

please. It must be so easy. nothing to lose - it will all get bought and sold somehow; all you'd be doing is raising the faith and convenience for us.
Agree completely. Linn classifieds would be a benefit to all.
I agree with the above but don't think it will ever happen on a manufacturer sponsored forum. I suspect there are too many issues, some economic and some warranty/service related. For now, there is always Audiogon, which I find to be a great resource for used gear.
I agree with John, there's AudioGon and PFM (Pink Fish Media) in which the sale posts are for free.

richard, I think your idea is a reasonable one but at the moment we would prefer the Linn Forum not to become a 'trading post'. As others have commented, there are other forums out there that are better positioned for this and we would prefer the forums to be primarily a support mechanism. We would recommend that your first contact should be with your Linn dealer in any case, as they are perfectly positioned to buy/sell/upgrade used kit.

For this reason, we have updated the Forum Rules And Tips.

Thanks for your input,
