Has anyone downloaded an older studio master and compared it to the LP?

I'm thinking of getting a standard test LP I've used with both my Linn Axis and my LP12, Carol Kidd's Nice Work from 1987.

I'm just wondering if the analogue master has lost quality compared with an early pressing (Star Wars Special Editions restorations were done because original film was going fading green) or if the analogue master works well in digital form.

Definitely gonna get the recent Messiah master.

It is my understanding that tapes if stored correctly will not degrade in quality, I think they recoat them after a while, not sure.

Who is selling Studio masters? The reason that MFSL and Red Rose Music gave up is because the studios made it really difficult to get the masters.
