Full Version: Suggestion - "Non-Windows DS Forum"

A lot of threads about the DS seem to be getting cluttered up with a few people ranting about the fact that they can't get it to work smoothly with the Mac and other non-windows based systems.

I think that it's great to have discussion around these points, but that it's also not helping people who are just trying to get the best from their Windows based system.

Perhaps a separate sub-forum would be worth creating?

Seconded. Good suggestion.

I agree with the recommendation.
Don't agree.
The forum going to be less easy to read with more sub-forums. We going to have threads that contain both windows and non-windows subject/content, that going to require moderator assistance.

Instead, some people have to learn how to behave.
Fair enough. I'm not that fussed, as I always read the forums by looking at the "View Today's Posts" link anyway, so I'll see new posts wherever they are. However, knowing that someone's posted in a "Non-Windows" forum means that I'm not going to rush to look at it, since it's not going to be relevant to me....

Well, then you will lose coherence of information about the DS that crosses the boundaries of related equipment preferences.

You also try to change the relatively clean and easy to follow structure of the forum to accommodate a very small number of people's behaviour.

Maybe any threads that contain posts which rant repeatedly and do not relate to the subject, should be moved to a forum that is setup to contain exactly those types of posts? The only other alternative is more moderator intervention earlier in the thread's discussion to keep threads focussed on the subject?

Cheers
Chris
