Dear Linn:
I find there's a lot of crossfire and repetition in trying to get a resolution to the UPnP (et al.) restrictions built into the DS. Unfortunately, the discussion on "Linn DS" is wide-ranging but fairly technical, and has indirect impact on many users. So it affects lots of people, but also offends lots of sensitive users whose equipment works to their liking but who do not empathize with the rest of users whose equipment does not.
It might be nice to give big project-oriented issues a forum of their own, so that "happy" users need not visit, but the owners who need help from Linn can get a focused discussion rolling without having to repeat themselves every other post, or defend themselves against repetitive sniping. It would also give Linn support a chance to focus on the issues without getting caught in the same crossfire and sniping.
A "Troubleshooting Forum" could provide a long-term solution to sticky problems until they're solved, show Linn is responsive, and act as a "safe haven" from the usual banter and emotion in the normal forums --- for problems that are bigger than just one user, just one system, and require Linn assistance to solve.
