Imaginary Day! F____ing rocks Tongue

Love Pat, I remember seeing him at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 1987 and I was hooked ever since.

I saw him play at the Cadillac Theater in Chicago...His first show w/Antonio.....I know Paul Wertico pretty well...he plays at the Green Mill in Chicago.....That is hands down the greatest live show I have ever seen...he played for 3 1/2 hours.....for $50......."We Live Here" is my favorite recording of his.....

Fantastic stuff; myself and many of my friends have been playing Pat Metheny Group albums since 'As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls' was released back in 1981 (I think). I can still recall the sound of the whole-side live version of Wichita Falls (from Travels) at full tilt on my long suffering Isobariks; as no doubt, can my neighbours Smile

One of my friends (whilst we were all extremely drunk at a party many, many years ago) accidentally suggested putting on some Pat Methsdrinker and we have jocularly referred to him as Pat Mathsdrinker or the Methsdrinking Group ever since. It's not meant in any derogatory way what so ever; it's simply one of these comments that still keeps cropping up in music conversations at parties Smile

Love it! First heard him back in mid 80's while visiting a Linn customer and listening to 'American Garage'.

Hi SeeDee12
I've got a few PMG but I've not got that album; judging by your (somewhat lengthy) review of the album though, it really sounds like I should have. Time being short, I got to the second sentence of your review, then just gave up reading the rest and ordered on Amazon about 5 minutes ago Tongue

Hi Vicdiaz
Yep, got that one and it's good isn't it.
NB American Garage is quite probably a genre these days Smile

OH yes

Stil life (talking) is one of the most amazing pieces of music i have ever heard .

The DVD is also very good with different tracks compared to the CD

Ranting is the only thing that keeps me sane!
Well, mostly sane.
Well actually, now I come to think of it, it hasn't and I'm totally nuts Tongue

Poor dyeraudio asked a sensible question and things have degenerated to conversation normal now; but this it why we like it here! Smile
