You’re right - it shouldn't really be necessary, and may just be a peculiarity of your setup. When ripping the bulk of my discs with XP & dbpamp, it was straight to the correct Twonky folder on the NAS without any problems

Hi salty

After ripping to local c drive, move the files to a folder on the NAS that is NOT monitored by twonky. Then after the longish file transfer is complete, you can move the transferred file to the twonky monitored folder almost instantly. This seems to be easier for twonky to handle with the -1 setting.

bez - good point on the backup.

Is not the advice from Linn very strongly against the -1 setting for Twonky?

I've not had any problems with the method described above. YMMV. Moving files to NAS twonky monitored folder would sometimes result in errors on the scan results - not with the music itself. Ripping directly to NAS twonky monitored folder with -1 setting is asking for trouble.
