replace aktiv lk100's
Hi,

I've currently got 2x LK100's in aktiv mode connected to keilidhs and was wondering if I replaced the amps with LK140's could I use the same aktiv cards or are they different. Is it worth it for the extra few hundred pounds it would cost.

Is there a single amp option (passive or aktiv) that would sound better than the aktiv LK's?

Thanks.

RE: replace aktiv lk100's
Tke aktive card used in LK100 are mono cards and the cards use in LK140 are stereo cards. They are different types of cards so you need source stereo cards to fit LK140s.

Try 5125, I think they sounds better than LK140 but they also require stereo aktiv cards.

RE: replace aktiv lk100's
Klouts take the mono cards, I think 5105s do too. Certainly rather than a pair of LK140s I would go for a 5125 as I am a big fan of the latter and use them in my own system. A single 5125 with the original power supply will be cheaper than two LK140s too and you will get an extra channel 'for free'. At a later date you could upgrade the 5125 with the Dynamik power supply too although you can get 5125s with the Dynamik pre-fitted but that is an extra outlay in the first place but normally cheaper than an upgrade at a late date.
