JBL K2 9900, anyone listened to them yet?
Anyone listened to these? Rated best High-end speakers 2010 in a Norwegian test. Still can't get Manfred's Violon sound out of my head and am contemplating getting big speakers...

(As a side note - KK/1 minus clay makes all the difference, but still...)

Comments welcome...

Cheers
Tom

I know what you mean about those Violon's...

Have you tried this on the ADS? If so, which do you think makes more difference?

Main System: Renew DS > Exotik+DA/D > A2200/D > 242s (mk2)
& A3200/D > 106c, 104c's (using Linn Silvers & K400, on Hutter rack)

Dining Room: Sneaky DS > Majik 109s (using "K200")
Bedroom: Majik DS > Tivoli Radio Model 3 + Companion Speaker

RE: JBL K2 9900
KK/1 minus clay is the biggest "upgrade" since CD to DS and "Going from tri- to quinwiring"...!

The ADS get's it's lost timing back...!!!

I'm glad you know where I'm at at the moment, Rowland...difficult to explain big speaker sound...it's just - well...BIG...Shy

Interesting. Do you think that this helps to sort out the ADS firmware issues at all, from your perspective?

Main System: Renew DS > Exotik+DA/D > A2200/D > 242s (mk2)
& A3200/D > 106c, 104c's (using Linn Silvers & K400, on Hutter rack)

RE: JBL K2 9900
The Cara-issue is non-existing at the moment...Rolleyes - it's all about the music. I could be pedantic and still claim my preferred Cara would be even better - but nah...it's just music flowing. Comparing to before non-clay...well, I'm playing every single album on my nas at the moment and enjoying it...! I should have done the KK from day 1...what a waist(well, not mine...Rolleyes ) waste...Rolleyes - but this really belongs in the ferrite-thread...got carried away by the right question...Big Grin

Nice work, Tom! First you lay the bait for someone to take this thread off topic, someone (rowland) falls for it hook, line and sinker, then you feed the off-topic discussion and call it off-topic. Smile

Wait, what is this thread about again? Big Grin

Stunta - I think it's fair to say that TomBK is one person whose threads I have no qualms about taking off-topic, given the number of times he (and I) have done it to other people's threads! Big Grin

I think some of us have reached a point where talking about the thread title is now deemed off-topic Big Grin

Oh and we have now become an army of ferrite hunters. I guess now I am on topic?
