Ok, i thought I'd start the ball rolling as i have a bit of a problem.
I DON'T HAVE ANYONE TO TALK LINN WITH!!! Ahh, that's a little bit better. What I'm thinking as a friendly northerner, ( who's recently turned 40 and is a bit grumpy now and again), is there anyone in east Yorkshire who's a keen ear for chat and music? You know, someone who shares the same passion -Linn. There's been a few times when I really could do with another pair of ears, a fellow linnie who can say, 'dan, it's miles better with that pre amp, or wow, much better with that ic, here, I'll swap it whilst you listen ' etc etc etc. It would also be great to learn about new music this way I feel. I wonder how many of us have mates in our lives who 'get it'? None of mine do. My wife still thinks Corrie on hd looks the same as sd, my ds sounds the same as my Classik did and so on, whilst my friends are not really into hi fi like I am. So I'm taking it upon myself to seek out the linngeek, the guys who 'get it'. Anyone want a nice cup of ringtons one day? Oh, i forgot, that's no good, my system sounds miles better on an evening! LOL Anyway, all thoughts will be read with interest. Linn- MajikDS-D, Exotik(a)-D, Lejonklou Tundra stereo power amplifier, lovely maple ninkas. Silvers. K400. Russ Andrews powerkords. Two helmholtz resonators - cheers Richard! |

RE: A Linn forums listening club?
A while ago I suggested that oliverh tweak the forum settings to show "location" under the username, post count etc on the left, to let us easily see if other people are local and then PM them to setup an event or two.
Didn't seem to get anywhere though... Anyone else Cambridgeshire based?
Main System: Renew DS > Exotik+DA/D > A2200/D > 242s (mk2) & A3200/D > 106c, 104c's (using Linn Silvers & K400, on Hutter rack) Dining Room: Sneaky DS > Majik 109s (using "K200") Bedroom: Majik DS > Tivoli Radio Model 3 + Companion Speaker |

As "misunderstood in Devon" I think it's a great idea. Although the Ringtons would def' have to make way for some Otter Ale or Hopping Hare

RE: A Linn forums listening club?
Well, I'd come down to Yorkshire for a bevy. It could be a roaming society which congeals in various towns (near stations) as B&B's / cheap hotels are not that expensive in the off-season. It would be funny though; I can picture this squad of deaf old buggers (like me) shouting in a bar (due to our ears all being shot from listening to Linn systems too loud and for too long).

RE: A Linn forums listening club?
Good idea.
On my local stereo forum, stereo.net.au, there would be a GTG (get together) most weekends somewhere around the country followed by lots of reports and pics. BTW, as far as location goes, members here can include their location in their signature as I have done. That enabled me to catch up with a Scottish member on holiday here recently. RE: A Linn forums listening club?
I am down in Dorset and would be very interested in a listening/chat club. Yorkshire is a bit of a stretch for me but am occasionally up there on business (twive in last six months).
