Thanks very much Bri - I've downloaded the small one with albumartist and if I'm feeling brave tomorrow I'll see if I can get PUTTY and it to work! Lizzie

Updated and new custom Twonky tree packs

(NB For advanced users - who might have custom shortcut tree files - the only changes are in view-definitions.xml files, so in that circumstance, the appropriate new view-definitions.xml file can be used to overwrite the one in the previous custom tree pack, without messing up any custom shortcut files)

I copied the new pack (with albumartist/greater amount of albums) and rebuild the database. Are there only minor changes vs the last version ?
A first look shows no changes.

Great work from you Brian to give us the chance to get more convenient with our folder trees Shy

RE: [How to] change Twonky 6 menus (trees) in the new Qnap QPKG (and on other NAS's)
It's a few minor things including the below:

I've added a new subcontainer (to the albumartist comtainer) which enables a new option to alphabetically list all tracks from the albums shown below it. So if you open -Album Artist- and then navigate to 'Pink Floyd', just as before, you will see all the albums. If you just wanted to play the track Money (but couldn't remember which album it's on) you can now click on the -List All Tunes- (at the top of all the Pink Floyd albums) and it shows all the Pink Floyd tracks sorted alphabetically. That facility existed in -Track Artists- before, but I'd never thought of adding it to -Album Artists- (I added it to my own system last month, and as it has actually proven useful a couple of times, I decided it was time to add it to the published ones). If you were in that situation before, you had to go all the way back to the main menu and mine down to that information via another route (like -Track Artists- or -Tunes-).

On both 'existing' trees, I've tidied up some subcontainer names.

On both 'existing' trees, I've added back a missing video albums container (for folks who use the multimedia features).

Of course, I've added two completely new trees (the ones for smaller collections).

Bri

PS I only ever use the Albumartist tree (the alpha-grouped one for big collections). I have briefly tested all the others (on a handful of albums), but that's most certainly not the same as actually using them daily, so if anyone spots anything odd, please do let me know and I'll check it out (and maybe even fix it)! Bri - sorry to be a pain but I'm having problems finding the directory. I checked where my TwonkyMedia file is kept and it is the same path as yours. One difference I noted is that for Web Page it doesn't give the IP address but ts219pii:9000/ - however I got the IP address from Konfig (or I think I did!)
Went into Putty and put in that IP address, then typed in same file path as per your example and it says directory doesn't exist... Not really sure where to go from here and any advice gratefully received! ;-)
Thanks, Lizzie

did you try the trick with the tabulator key, autofill the folders you want to go through.

Hi

Yes, the tab trick is the best one as it will only autocomplete if the path actually exists, so if it doesn't autocomplete, you know there's something incorrect. If you haven't tried that, gove it a shot and see if that gets you there.

Thanks guys - well I sorted the first bit (suspect I was being a dozey idiot and may have typed trees rather than views earlier (doh) but then when I tried to copy the files, I hit another snag - attached shows screen grabs of the message, then next file shows more info which is where it becomes double dutch to me Sad

Hi

Great! Sorry I've not been about much and thus have not been much help. As I've mentioned to others, I only use the albumartist tree which was designed for large collections, so though I have very briefly tested the others on a small handful of albums, that's no substitute for actually using them, so please do let me know if there's anything odd (or anything that looks to be missing from the menus).

Bri

No problem Bri - and I'll certainly let you know if there's anything I notice. Seen about the funny 0000 date thing but eventually will make sure I've removed all the Folder jpegs as I'm embedding them in mp3tag anyway - well I assume that's what I'm doing!
If you're still about, I do have one question about the clients db file - I was going to copy that across as I do occasionally use Kinsky on my PC/laptop - do I need to reset anything in Twonky once I've copied it across?
Thanks again, Lizzie
