Steve Hackett gig
Having had time to let last night's gig sink in, the only way to discribe it is AWESOME!!!
A small hall brought it down to a intimate level and the rest of steve's band were all smiling at each other and enjoying themselves, while being really tight and dynamic. The set contained material from his 1975 album voygue of the accolite right through to his latest album, in fact the opener was Loch Lomond from the new album. Not many bands will do that. The sound was loud but crystal clear and very little nuance was clearly audible, even when Lee Pomeroy was attacking the bass pedals!! Bought the new album on CLEAR vinyl to complement my cd copy and Steve signed it after the show, I was also introduced to Tony Patterson fron Regenesis so all in all a fantastic evening! |

RE: Steve Hackett gig
Fantastic concert - best in quite a while. Some of the older Genesis numbers were nice interpretations - took me right back to seeing Foxtrot live years and years ago. When it was smaller halls, and before it all went giant and bloated.
All the musicians were top class, and Hackett is a master. I bought the double vinyl while I was there - i noticed one guy looking at me strangely as I stumped up the cash for an 'obsolete' format. Listening now, and very fine it sounds too! KDS/1/D, KK/1/D, ATC SCM100ASL Anniversary, LP12 fluted walnut/RaDikal/Urika/Keel/ARO/Dynavector XV1-T |

Good to hear that Milton Keynes rocked last night!! All the reviews of the other gigs have been very positive. Going back into smaller hall's is a great as it certainly makes for a more intimate enviroment, but still with great sound. Did you get the vinyl signed after the gig and which colour? The shadow of the heirophant is still wandering through my brain and bringing a smile to my face!! Regenesis are touring later this year with a foxtrot tour as a 40th anniversity tribute with all the Gabriel "stage props". Should be very interesting and sounds like a gig to attend. Don;t forget Progmeister 2 in june, a great days live music for only £18.00!! Regards |
