Volume output increased on DS on it's own!
Hi People,
I've noticed that the volume from my Majik DS has increased on it's own. It is similar to using Balanced RCA's (though I use unbalanced) in that the increase is about 6db louder. My system hasn't changed (using pre-amp) etc.. Anybody know why this should happen, it's very odd, is there a fault with the DS? |

It happened overnight. Using Cara 4 (3.4.3) and have also tried Cara 9 and now Cara 2(3.2.1) and there's a volume increase on all versions. Thanks, balhoon. |

I mean that the volume is increased on all the Cara versions by at least 6db, I noticed the increase overnight with Cara 4. I tired Cara 1 & 2 today and they all suffer from the volume increase. My record deck and sky are not affected. The internal volume control is disabled and always has been. Thanks, balhoon. |

I am not sure but might be it is the source. HDCD files tend to be 6db lower but normal 16/44 CD files are 6db higher comparatively.

Thanks for the reply but am aware of this. Volume increase relative to what ? ? not sure I follow ? Please advise ? I already had Cara 4 installed when I noticed overnight that the volume from the DS had increased by at least 6db. So yesterday I tried Cara 1,2 & 9 and the volume was still about 6db louder(just like Cara 4), I can hear this and I have not changed the volume on my pre-amp. I know the output from my record deck is always lower than say CD input and I note there is no change. Also no change with Sky connected to AUX. The volume increase applies to all bit rates 16, 24 etc../44.1 or hi-res etc.. from the DS only. To sum up the volume has increased by at least 6bd louder overnight than before. Thanks for your help |

RE: Volume output increased on DS on it's own!
You could try the DS into a different input on the 5103 just to check it's not a fault on the one it's connected to now.
Oh, and you can tell that to the other balhoon too. Tone. Very heavy silver stuff playing through very heavy shiny black stuff. |

Your saying the volume is about 6db louder. 6db louder than what? 6db louder than it was the night before? how can you measure this? Unless you have something to compare it with how can you establish that it is louder. How have you come to the conclusion that your volume is 6db louder than it was the night before ? eamonn |
