Have you actually used an iPad? - Seriously all that you say is correct however when you actually pick one up and start to use it...

Yes it's expensive - but so is my Hi-Fi.

A Retina Display would be great but I'll live with that shortcoming.

Multi task is coming by xmas.
It does not support Adobe flash.
Keyboard is fine.

It does not replace a laptop.

With Chorus DS HD it provides the best control option for a DS !

The ipad is one of the best devices I have bought and besides controlling my DS systems it is brilliant for surfing the net. Instant 'on' makes up for its shortcomings.

So it can't replace a laptop, which was an idea to me to help justify the price..... So as a control point for a DS it's dam expensive, surely the phone/pod is better option ? ..... or a little 10.1" net book ?

Had a demo/play in a high street electrical store last weekend...... The "kid" in the store wasn't very knowledgeable, they kept dropping the net connection and two wouldn't work because the power lead/plug was dodgy.
Next time I'll hassle the Apple store

Does it support BBC iPlayer ? ..... and Skype ?

Well, I'm watching Land of the Tiger on the iPlayer on my iPhone 3GS as I type so I would imagine the answer is probably yes

I believe Skype supported but only on wifi (not 3G)...
