RE: Sneaky Music DS - Distorted sound from line out
Done, done. I should ready these small remarks in Konfig first
. With preamp/amp disabled the sound is much cleaner. One more question. I like dbPowerAmp and that it allows tagging while ripping to WAV format. I have lots of WAVes done before I discovered dbPowerAmp. Is there a way to tag them the same way as files tagged with dbPowerAmp? (I know most of you will recommend flac/alac but I prefer wav format). Found the answer: http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm |

RE: Sneaky Music DS - Distorted sound from line out
Few days later... Everytime I fire up Sneaky & play music... I smile
. Everything sounds better via Sneaky. My own ripped CDs, files (even those compressed with MP3). Amazing gear. I regret I didn't get this earlier.

RE: Sneaky Music DS - Distorted sound from line out
Hi Just to confirm, if using as source only, then disable BOTH internal amp and volume control (you will have to check the settings to make sure).
I cannot remember if disabling one disables the other. I have two sneaky DS units and I use both of them as source only and I can confirm that I have both the internal amp and volume disabled. I think disabling the volume, disables the internal amp too. Also if you are still having issues, there is a section labled analogue attenuation I believe. The default setting is 0db and is generally best left at that however if there are distortion or clipping issues you can change this to a different value such as -6db for example. |

After that the sound is pure, clean, crisp, rich,... wonderful. Sneaky is the best source I ever had. It's good no one wanted to lend me Klimax . I'm more than happy with my purchase!

Another strange question from rookie. I use notebook with Asset™ UPnP -> powerplugs -> Sneaky. What is & what would I need Twonky? Do I need that to use NAS solution (which I'm going to buy soon or a later)? Will I have gapless playback when using Twonky?

Hi cryptonit Asset UPnP and Twonky provide more or less the same functionality - they are UPnP media servers. Asset UPnP is only compatible with the Windows operating system. Twonky is compatible with both Windows and Linux. So, the hardware and operating system you are using to store your media dictates what media servers are available to you. If you are using a Windows based PC you can use either Twonky or Asset (or others). If you are using a Windows based NAS you can use either Twonky or Asset (or others). If you are using a Linux based NAS (QNAP) you can use Twonky but you will not be able to run Asset on it. eamonn Majik DS-I - Akurate 2200 - Akurate 212, Sneaky Music DS - Komponent 104 |

Will I have gapless playback when using Twonky? twonky is just another product for the same purpose as asset upnp - and you will miss asset since it is the better, more stable and regarding music-trees better configurable solution. no light without shadow: asset upnp is windows or windows-home-server only, so most recommended nas's won't allow you to run it. qnap fo example brings twonky anlong and yes, there is gapless playback. edit... ah, eamonn was four minutes ahead
