I was aware of point 1. Your conclusion, was what I was referring to (rather obliquely, in hindsight--my apologies). The .PDF is on a network (i.e. online); it is just a matter of setting up some conventions and accessing it, hence my mention of "Folder.pdf". There are issues regarding non standard sizing, etc, and these will remain so.

I think that there are several teething problems with the streaming experience, this being merely one of them. My ideal control point would be something that is extremely Sooloos-like in nature where everything links to everything imaginable. The price for such access is a database and a built in search engine within the control point to access such database. My failing eye-sight would also predicate that this would not be iPod oriented, but rather at minimum have an iPad sized screen. Ah...but we can all dream. Big Grin

Personally, if I were Linn, I would give a good, but OCD, software programmer a Klimax DS and six months to come up with a control point that (s)he would be happy to use. As these things normally go, by three months, we might have some pretty nice stuff on the forum. Big GrinBig Grin

Well, they should maybe hire Jason to do that. There is a good, extremely fast code-base, he has coverart caching - but he needs someone (or two) watching over him as his quality control isn't up to scratch (and never was).

I'm certainly not impressed with what's on offer with KinskyTouch so far. But to be fair - its still in Beta.

As I said elsewhere, it will be a good entry level CP ("Sneaky CP") but I really would like a "Kinsky CP" - and wouldnt mind paying decently for it.

Any update on this one?

Would love to have the Liner Notes as PDF displayed out of the Control Point. Doesn't need to be fancy, whereever the Music is, display a file with .PDF ending, similar to the .jpg logic.

No update as far as I know. We're still in computer stone age in this regard.

RE: Which Control Point Displays Liner Notes?
Funny this, one of the reasons I was doubtful about streaming was that I felt I needed the CD in front of me. That was so I could look up musicians, lyrics/libretto etc.

That was why I started of with a sonos with some music stored on a Lap Top as a trial.

After a short while I realised I wasn't getting up to reach for the CD and that quite often I didn't play complete albums but built up a Playlist simply adding tracks as I went along.

If I was about to play, lets say, an Opera, I would read up about it, the composer et al and store away what ever I wanted from google or similar and display what I wanted on the Lap Top during play. I even sometimes print out what info I felt I needed (wanted). To date I have found this rarely necessary. Plus I find it distracting reading sleeve notes etc. whilst listening to music so for me it is a minor problem.

RE: Which Control Point Displays Liner Notes?
Here's a rather oblique way to get to some useful info, thanks to someone who was over a here a while ago. While I was off to make the obligatory beverage for the listening session, I see this person on the couch with their iThing espousing some rather interesting trivia and other goodies. Turns out that using Shazam and allowing that to troll the web can in many cases give a listener some info on the album personnel, etc. What is missing, however, is the technogeek friendly stuff like gear used, etc, etc. So...we appear to have reached the 1970s days of white inner sleeves and sparse writing on LP covers at our current stage of streaming.Big Grin
