What parts of your LP12 are from the original turntable?
I've had my Sondek LP12 sixteen years, yesterday.

Of the original parts I still have:

The Lid.
The Outer-Platter.
The 33/45 speed switch.
The internal Valhalla-sized circuit-board and its connectors. Both from my original Lingo.

And nothing else. Also replaced is the cirkus, motor, T.Kable, Trampolin baseboard, subchassis, hinges, felt-matt, even back-badge and serial number sticker. The assembled by Laura Smith sticker is gone.

Even the cross-brace and most of screws I saw Peter at Cymbiosis replace during the new-plinth rebuild.

RE: What parts of your LP12 are from the original turntable?
The plinth, top plate, outer platter, lid and hinges are the only extant original parts of my 1988 LP12.

Will only replace the plinth if it warps or gets damaged and should that ever happen the replacement will be another fluted plinth. I'm not a fan of those slab-sided things... Big Grin Big Grin

RE: What parts of your LP12 are from the original turntable?
Hi

My first LP12, was created in 1990 from second hand/nearly new parts. Frankie, as it was called after it's similarity to Mary Shelley's famous creation, still lives on...in Tokyo!

Frankie was replaced about 3 years ago with a new LP12. Of that, the only original parts are:

The bearing
The Outer Platter
Lid
Hinges
Top Plate
most of the nuts and bolts.

Bought mine in 1985. I still have the platter, plinth, top-plate, baseboard, feet, lid and hinges. Can't remember if the motor was replaced with Valhalla/Nirvana/Cirkus/Lingo upgrades. If not, I probably still have the old motor.

AC motor upgrade isn't usual and is a separate upgrade.

The Radikal involves a change to a DC motor.

RE: What parts of your LP12 are from the original turntable?
Until about 3 years ago, my LP12 was completely original, including the Ittok/Troika that sat on it. The replacement process started with the Cirkus plus service, this was followed by the Radikal/Urika and latterly the Keel/Ekos SE. So that leaves the original black plinth, lid and hinges, outer platter and top plate.

My 1980 owned-from-new LP12 now only has the original top plate and platter. Everything else, including lid and hinges, has been changed.
