RE: The New Linn website
Hi Penguin,

Thanks for taking the time to give such detailed feedback. Much appreciated.

As you rightly point out, the site is a work in progress—and always will be in fact. We are now on a never ending roadmap to continually improve, evolve add new features … some pretty cool ones coming very soon! All the systems that the site is built upon, from the ground up are designed by Linn and integrate with the other parts of what we do here, which means we will be able to do some pretty cool things in the future.

We are also doing lots of testing, data analysis and gathering feedback from a multitude of sources in order to keep moving in the right direction and be improving all the time; so input like this is very valuable.

Jim

Hi Jim,

Nice to know this could be helpful :-) I'm glad to help especially for things I appreciate. And as you might imagine, I appreciate Linn products :-)

And nice to know that your about to build something that sounds like "interactive"...

Regards.

RE: The New Linn website
In the new site Linn just seems to sell DSM's and speakers. Very hard to find a DS, a Kontrol and power amps. If you toss 'em out of the product range and we can expect a huge sale on those, please let us know. The number of people wanting one if for the new web site alone must drop spectacularly.

Under "Try Linn" there's a link called "Find a shop"... which would naturally take place under "Buy Linn" I think. OKAY, find a shop to demonstrate the products, I understand. But maybe "Find a demonstrator" would have been a better way to put it, even if the link would land on the same page... And the best part of that is that there's no "Find a shop" in the "Buying Linn" tab... Who understands the logic ?
The same observations go for the "Buying Linn" tab. There's a tab for "Our systems close up" (which links to the same page as the one on "Our systems") and (finally) the "Product information" where you can learn that there are other products than those offered in the "Our systems". So Linn did not abandon the Majik Isobarik afterall :-)...
Regards.

Hi Penguin Hi-Fi,
there is another thread dealing with the new web sites and where I posted some feedback ... nice to see that somebody else felt more or less the same when exploring the tabs ... wait and see if our inputs will be taken.

A great look, and some excellent design ideas. Good fun to browse, but totally confusing if you're looking for something specific. The old site may have been a bit dated and clunky, but it was easier to find what you wanted.

A bit more intuitive and logical navigation please.

Akurate DS, Unidisk SC, Pekin, Kinos DSP, Akurate 212 aktiv, Majik 112 aktiv, Majik 3100, Katans, AV5125s, Audyssey MultiEQ Pro, AKG K701, Sony MDR SA5000, Graham Slee Solo

RE: The New Linn website
The old website had an easy-to-use list of Linn retailers that made it easy to find LP12 specialists.

The new site has a funky map: http://www.linn.co.uk/try/findashop but you have to click on every shop to find out what it supports and even then it doesn't tell you which retailers are Lp12 specialists

It would be nice to search for retailers nearby who specialise in LP12, and to see which ranges they support in the list view you get when you search by postcode. Can I also suggest that the list view is shown automatically, and matches the retailers displayed in the map?

Pete

RE: The New Linn website
Sorry , guy's don't like the new look at all . It's far to busy looking , it isn't easy to find things and worst of all it looks downmarket , the old site was far more sophisticated looking and I would have thought more commensurate with Linn's image and quality.

RE: The New Linn website
The first thing I see on the new website is a huge picture of a bloke in a shower. Fortunately there's a lot of frosted glass. Not sure if I quite understand what this has to do with hi-fi.

Then I can't find any info about anything other than the digital players. I'm very interested in getting a new amp but I can't find anything about it on the new website. I assume that you've not stopped production of amplifiers?
