Tone - Don't suppose you post to the Punto Sports Club forum too, by any chance?? Or Club 80-90 forums ??
Living in Lancashire I see - hmmmmm...Wink Ah - the power of Google

Ooer - I hope this thread doesn't get out of hand Sad

Maybe I should steer it back on course by mentioning the directionality of Cat5 patch-leads?

Eh??, Punto's? This is my one and only venture into forum life. Shy

I would no longer qualify for Club 18-30 but 80-90 is a long way off .... hopefully .... if I make it that far. Smile

Hmm, cat5 sound better if you burn it in the wrong way round for precisely 67 hours 14 minutes and 53.5 seconds, on a Tuesday.
Then disconnect it in the dark, before leaving it to "rest" wrapped in blue tissue paper, prior to reconnecting it the right way round on the following Sunday morning .... but only if it isn't raining.

Doesn't it? Rolleyes Big Grin

Very heavy silver stuff playing through very heavy shiny black stuff.

RE: A thread that gets out of hand !
I generally ping a device for about three weeks and burn the cables in. Of course, the writing must be in the direction that one is sending the pings in. Works a charm. Can't wait for the new DS to have two network ports so that I can start bi-linking.

D: KDS + CDT-300 + Unidisk SC.
A1: SME 20/2/V/MC-A90 --> EAR 324. A2: LP-12/Lingo 3/Ekos 2/Kontrapunkt c --> Uphorik/D
P: SSP-800 --> CA-M400 --> 802D, HTM-2D, 804S, REL Studio III + B1

Thanks. That made me smile, and I needed a smile. Smile

Maybe Linn could develop some kind of aktiv ethernet, where one interface sends the TCP and the other sends the IP? Should sound way more musical than simply aggregating with IEEE 802.3ad.

ADS + loads of stuff people here don't care about
