RE: Opinions on Ethernet over power units
Thanks for the advice.
I have got some. Their throughput seems a lot less than the 200Mbs on the label. I hardwired my mac to my time capsule and blasted some files at it. According to my activity monitor on my mac, it was running at 2Mb/s. This was a quick cursory check.
I assume this is because I am going through the distribution board, and I have solar panels and a big nasty inverter as well!
From what I read, the advantage of the Ethernet vs Wireless, is more to do with cutting out dropouts rather than bandwidth.

Assuming no other traffic on the network, what baud rate is needed to get a FLAC file to a DS without the playback being compromised?
I may have to bite the bullet and get out a hammer action drill!

Thanks for the welcome.
Kind Regards
Will.

You're very unlikely to get 200 mbps out of 200 mbps plugs! Devolo provide control softare; on my setup, this software shows that three of the plugs are running at between 110 & 130 mbps, and one at 25, although I must try to sort that slow one.
