14.4.2009 Lord Of The Rings - Followship Of The Ring @ The Royal Albert Hall.
London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ludwig Wicki.

Howard Shore gave a pre-performance talk. Cool He did a signing after the concert.

The entrire score was accompanied by the film in HD. Big Grin

Long night but worth it. The synchronisation and sound was superb.

They will be performing The Two Towers next year 23/24 April 2010. I would recommend you get your tickets fast.

Lyle Lovett and his acoustic band march the 23rd at Paradiso Amsterdam

...a magical live experience with Russ Kunkel (!) on drums. One of those concerts you should have brought so much more friends to, even if they never heard him before.

Madonna, Sticky And Sweet Tour, Amsterdam Arena, 2nd September 2008

Not a patch on Bruce Springsteen at the same venue back in June.

The sound quality of the venue is terrible at the best of times but seemed to be especially bad for Madge's gig. All we could hear were the fans around us singing and there was a lot of pushing and shoving going on.

But the show staging was spectacular and the dance routines excellent. Hopefully the concert will be released on DVD sometime and then it'll be possible to enjoy the complete show in comfort.

Basement Jaxx at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange last night. I didn't expect it to be that good but it was absolutely fantastic! Of course, there was a social gathering back here afterwards with much wine consumed and loud music until about 04:30 - oops!
