Briain Wrote:Basement Jaxx at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange last night. I didn't expect it to be that good but it was absolutely fantastic! Of course, there was a social gathering back here afterwards with much wine consumed and loud music until about 04:30 - oops! Hi Briain - no surprise about the Jaxx! Saw them a few years ago at Wembley and looking forward to seeing them again at Hyde Park this summer. Great band live. Just wis htey would tour a little more. Paco Peña and the Paco Peña Flamenco Dance Company
Last night in Munich. An emotional and turbulent Flamenco show. 2 hours without any weakness. The high spot of the evening was for me Paco Peña with a male Flamenco dancer alone on the stage. Both had given their best and form an intensiv unity. So I wasn't sure interpets the dancer the guitar music or interprets the guitar player the performance of the dancer. Wonderful. |

Little Feat at the Sage, Gateshead on Monday night - great show, but were we the only ones who thought the sound was poor?

Stereolab, last Oct 10 in Chicago. Can't get enough of the lovely Laetitia. I have missed far too many good concerts recently due to a number of factors. Time to get back up on that horse!

That said, I'm only just getting over that last night out; I just found another empty Vodka bottle under the sofa yesterday!

Went to see Hayseed Dixie a few months back just across the river at the Picturedrome - great gig - and the week before it was the Fun Lovin' Criminals - who were also fantastic... There is certainly more to Holmfirth than "Last of the Summer Wine" - For Example - I'd wager not many people know that but for Hollywood having [slightly] better weather, Holmfirth would have been the home of the global film industry - TRUE! Only about 50 people turned up which was a real shame cos they were superb. It was quite embarrassing for them and us but once it all got going it was great - a bit like having them round to your house for a party. Not sure they will come back to Holmfirth though. |
