K600 alternatives
I have used all types of Linn speaker cables with positive results (other than my wife hating how the K600 and K400 looked); the exception being K20 which I don't care for.

I am about to add a new pair of Akurate 212 to be driven by a pair of Klimax Solo with Klimax Kontrol / Klimax DS.

I've owned several Linn systems over the years and I've never used non-Linn speaker cables but in this new application K600 / K400 would not be aesthetically acceptable. So I am wondering what speaker cables I should use?

PS- I was planning on Tri-wiring the Akurate 212 (I don't believe they quad-wire?)

***See profile bio for complete system description***

RE: K600 alternatives
I find van den hull snow line to be superior to any linn speaker cable, it's also far more aesthetically acceptable and far easier to work.

Also chord make some exellent cables that work well in a linn system, epic twin and super twin is great stuff.

Oh and by the way 212s do quad wire, they are four way speakers!

I have Chord Odyssey Install cables which are the same as the sleeved variety, performance wise and I rate them very highly. When I substituted K400 as an experiment I couldn't detect any difference. They also have the advantage of going virtually anywhere and passing the wife test.

RE: K600 alternatives
If you don't want to multi-wire, you could get your dealer to split K400 for you into a pair of "K200". This is what I've done in my second system and it sounds great. There are several people who say that whilst multi-wiring sounds more detailed, single wiring sounds more cohesive and musical. I've not yet experimented myself...

Main System: Renew DS > Exotik+DA/D > A2200/D > 242s (mk2)
& A3200/D > 106c, 104c's (using Linn Silvers & K400, on Hutter rack)

Dining Room: Sneaky DS > Majik 109s (using "K200")
Bedroom: Majik DS > Tivoli Radio Model 3 + Companion Speaker

Has anyone tried single wiring linn speakers and replacing the terminal links with proper jumpers?

What do you mean by "proper" ? Is solid steel not good these days?

I mean short pieces of real speaker cable. Are the stock links as good as speaker cables?

I might be wrong, but I'd think it won't matter on such a small distances?

I don't know. I have read plenty of times that is recommended to remove the metal strips and use cable jumpers. I was just curious if that applies to linn speakers, as well. At the moment I use K600 with my 109s.
