I would love to get the 24 bit version but would want it to have that "Linn quality". It's a big price premium for something I already own, 2 versions off actually and a couple of greatest hits albums.
Maybe the future would be if the labels themselves released downloads of master quality, they have a huge back library and may generate very healthy sales as we rush to have our favourite albums on 24 bit from yester-yearSmile wouldn't that be an ideal world....

I have three versions of album Hotel California now.
The original CD in flac.
A remastered 24 bit version which was converted from 24bit DTS 6ch into 2ch stereo. I like this version very much.
Today I bought an original 2ch remastered album in 24bit 192khz. I although I have the album twice, this afternoon I decided to buy this one as well and it makes me happy.

Hi Valentine. I would be very interesred to know where you found this 2011 remaster edition (the Bill Szymczyk one)? I've tried googlin for it but even searching for WCI record group gives me no results.
Do you remember where/how you got this one?

The multichannel 24bit version indeed sounds great.
It is different but I love it.
The Linn DSM cannot play the 6ch version, so I converted it into a 2 channel version with AVS audio converter. The results is great and it can be played via the DSM now (24bit/96khz).
I just wanted to have the original version in 24 bit as well (192kHz).

Cheers, just noticed dbpoweramp will do it although unsure what settings to do it with. Might have a play at converting some stereo to mc, although I doubt it will be any good!

Sneaky DS (Digital Out), Oppo BDP-95, PS3 and Sky+HD -> Marantz AV8801 -> Classe CA-5200-> B&W XT8s, B&W XTC, B&W XT2s & BK XLS-400 DF Sub

One of the Linn guys pointed out this site on another thread the other day. It's an unofficial DR database.

Thanks for that. Its interesting that the HDTracks version of the album measures as having a lower dynamic range than the vinyl and the better CD versions. This may explain why some prefer the CD to a high-res download.
