RE: The pearl in the turd thread
In 2006, a few years before the economic recession and at a time when one’s own money was more spend able, there was a no.1 hit i liked so much i purchased the full price album on the strength of that one track alone.
i must of been crazy at the time ![]() ![]() I know this is a subjective thing that's in all of our humble opinions, but i must say i was at first not only slightly disappointed but embarrassed too because shortly after leaving Tesco's with my brand new St.Elsewhere CD it was played in the car with my friend who laughed her head off all the way home ![]() Although upon reflection: i don't dislike this album completely, and imo Gnarls has something special, perhaps if this was reworked with a good band of proper musicians around him (?). Personally, I'd go for 'Sweet Child O' Mine' from 'Appetite For Destruction'.

RE: The pearl in the turd thread
I've been listening to the Bowie LP I said I didn't like, and you're all right - it is good. I always thought it was a bit pretentious and self-indulgent, but there are some great songs. Not quite Hunky Dory, but not Never Let Me Down either. Happy to be wrong on this one!
