RE: The pearl in the turd thread
In 2006, a few years before the economic recession and at a time when one’s own money was more spend able, there was a no.1 hit i liked so much i purchased the full price album on the strength of that one track alone.

i must of been crazy at the time Shy

I know this is a subjective thing that's in all of our humble opinions, but i must say i was at first not only slightly disappointed but embarrassed too because shortly after leaving Tesco's with my brand new St.Elsewhere CD it was played in the car with my friend who laughed her head off all the way home Sad

Although upon reflection: i don't dislike this album completely, and imo Gnarls has something special, perhaps if this was reworked with a good band of proper musicians around him (?).

Eh?

What about 'Unwashed And Somewhat Slightly Dazed' and 'Cygnet Committee', or 'Memory Of A Free Festival'?

Tend to agree with 'Pablo Honey' though.

Differing tastes never cease to amaze...............What about 'Unwashed And Somewhat Slightly Dazed' and 'Cygnet Committee', or 'Memory Of A Free Festival'?

I resemble that commentShy

Personally, I'd go for 'Sweet Child O' Mine' from 'Appetite For Destruction'.

I've been listening to the Bowie LP I said I didn't like, and you're all right - it is good. I always thought it was a bit pretentious and self-indulgent, but there are some great songs. Not quite Hunky Dory, but not Never Let Me Down either. Happy to be wrong on this one!

ADS + loads of stuff people here don't care about

Of you have got to be joking, there are several tracks worse than that great song.

White Album, Abbey Road, Help, Rubber Soul etc etc etc

All of these have no good tracks whatsoever on any of them at all

Braced for the backlash

That was my point - it's the pearl on an album that otherwise completely fails to live up to the standard it sets...
