I looked at deutschegrammophon.com, but that doesn't offer studio master; only FLAC lossless, "encoded from 16 bit/44.1 kHz master" in the case of the Mahler...

Whilst we don't at this time have the rights to sell the Universal back catalogue in all territories, it would appear that they are committed to the non-DRM Studio Master format for their content.

Even if they don't eventually find a way to allow LinnRecords.com to sell globally, I'd imagine they'll find a route to the customer one way or another.

Best
Gilad

It's not only the US where you do not have the rights. I live in Luxembourg and cannot download the albums. I find it appalling that within the so-called single market of the EU such restrictive practices apply. I do not understand the logic - I can buy DG and Decca CDs in Luxembourg, why on earth can I not buy downloaded music? Are you doing anything to bring the attention of European Commission to this blatent infringement of single market rules?

I am one frustrated music lover!!

Best regards.

Hiya,

I'm part of the Linn Records team. As Gilad mentioned, we don't have the right to sell Universal's catalogue in all territories. The availability of each release varies from release to release. I can confirm that there are currently Universal titles scheduled to be released this month in Luxembourg, so please do check back!

Best,
Kim

Hello Kim,

any chance of releasing in Germany as well?

Thanks
Tim

I see Luxembourg is well represented... as I live in Luxembourg also, good news to see our small country hasn't been forgotten!!!

But I concurr with Gonzalez... Europe single market? We wish....! No SKY UK outside the UK, no Universal or Decca downloads in this and that country.... ridiculous! Time for a profound change I say!

Linn Renew DS - Accuphase E-460 - B&W 802D - Nordost Valhalla

I fully agree with you and Gonzalez. In Germany, you can download mp3 from say Amazon, but you are banned from HD downloads. I have a hard time understanding this logic, and I do not understand why there are all these dfferences in our supposingly single market.... And this is not even about a global vs EU difference....
