RE: 5103 Technical Question on Speaker Configuration
Here's a quote from Ian at Linn which throws some light on the digitising at the stereosub level:

"The AV5103 does all it's bass management with the DSP so when selecting Stereo Sub, the stereo path is digitised. So a stereo input is digitised, the DSP routes low frequency to the Sub and full bandwidth to the DAC and out the main. It needs to do this so that there are no timing issues between the audio from the sub and the mains due to the ADC and DAC conversion latency.

Hi. I very much doubt that this is true for my 5103. When set to Stereo+Sub (independent on small/large front setting), the frequency response is flat to 80 khHz on the fronts. (Well there is some damping in the analog cables, but no sign of digitalization. When in Phantom mode you can really tell, lots of noise, lots of distortion, DSP artifacts).

I can post measurements, but I'm traveling right now. Back on the 6th of may.

I can also check software revision number, if it is related to some update...

Best,
Per
