Can't say I agree with their compilation. K.o.B. 2.0 is clipped thanks to the knob at the knobs. Hate to mention them loudness wars...the war appears to be over and the other side won.Sad

D: KDS + CDT-300 + Unidisk SC.
A1: SME 20/2/V/MC-A90 --> EAR 324. A2: LP-12/Lingo 3/Ekos 2/Kontrapunkt c --> Uphorik/D
P: SSP-800 --> CA-M400 --> 802D, HTM-2D, 804S, REL Studio III + B1

I agree with you. I have many SACD's that are as good or better than these choices for sound quality and music.

My list would include:

Diana Krall The Look of Love

Dire Straits Brothers in Arms

David Sandborn Time Again

Bryan Ferry Boys and Girls

Bon Jovi This Left Feels Right

Poncho Sanchez. Out of Sight

Diana Krall. The Girl in the Other Room

Steely Dan. Goucho

Oscar Peterson Trio. We Get Requests

Rachel Podger. La Stravaganza

Al Dimeola. Flesh on Flesh

To name a few

Never really listened to the 2.0 of the Columbia release of KoB but the 5.1 (or should I say 5.0 as there is little LFE at all) is nowhere near as good as the Sony JSACD release.

I don't really rate Thriller on SACD. Wasn't impressed at all with the 2.0. Perhaps they will release the 5.1 mix now that MJ has passed away. (Apparently he did not like the surround mix and said no to its release.)

I can also think of many superior SACD's to the ones on the list. Most of Elton Johns are superb. Chris Botti 'Night Sessions' is excellent. Some of the Concord Jazz SACD releases are excellent especially the Ray Brown and Gene Harris recordings 'Live at the Loa' and 'Listen Here' and Soular Energy'.

Can't argue with DSOTM and Keb Mo though.

My 2pc/cents worth. Tongue

Mozart
Kisto, Dynamik Uni 1.1, Blu-Ray: OPPO BDP-95 (Multi-Zone, Multi-Region)
Dynamik Balanced C4200 + Dynamic Majik 6100 - Aktiv Akurate 242, Cool
Dynamik Balanced C6100 - Aktiv Ninka, Aktiv Trikan Sizmik 10.25
Panasonic TX-P55VT30B 3D HD
Awaiting DSMM (Multi-Channel) One can only hope Smile

The Elton Johns are a good example of work well done, as is pretty much ANY Concord disc. "Live at the Loa" is the most expensive disc in my collection, having had the track that caused just about every power amp to shut down in self-protection. (No thanks to B&W for their delightfully engineered combination of impedance and phase angle.)
