better phono stage as in the Majik DS-I
Dear All

I own a Majik DS-I and I'm very satisfied with it, except one aspect.
I use the internal MM phono stage and I must say, that I find this input not in pair with the others.
Is there a better internal phone stage available? Or do I have to go to an external solution? If so, what would you propose?

Thanks for your input.

Juerg

Hi

The Linn phono stage plays the tune. Many other stand alone phono stages don't do this anywhere near as well as the DSI's inbuilt version. If you want an alternative that offers better resolution and also plays the tune properly I would recommend Lejonklou.

He makes two stand alone mains powered MM phono stages.

Kinki at UK £420.00.
Slipsik at UK £750.00.

They are not cheap but they are superb.

Regards.

Hi Juerg

May I ask what you mean by "... not in pair with the others." ?

RE: better phono stage as in the Majik DS-I
Hi
when i bought my mdsm i had to change the internal phono stage because i had a mc system.
When my dealer installed the mdsm in my home he said linn had installed the "big" phone stage, which he said was the same as in the akurate pre.
So i realy don't know, had to believe him. The sound of course is immense good compared to my old pretek powertek combo. In compare to the built in mm stage in the dsm i cannot say.
But as the mdsm is a realy good deal i think the mm stage shouldn't be that bad.
Greetings
Jo
