... and they say flying is boring Wink

Good service from Singapore Airlines there (sounds almost as good as Cymboisis Big Grin )

Glad you are safe Peter, that must be the first time a lightening strike has ever taken out a Navigation system though. They are supposedly able to withstand this. You could have been mid ocean on a Nat track, and then you would have been stuffed........

My advice................make sure your airline flies Boeings, I still don't trust Airbus, this hasn't given me any reason to change that opinion.
If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going.

I don't know Eddie, but it was a hell of a big bang. One imagines, it was where and how badly it hit. Anyway, everyone was fine and who cares about a little delay - I don't.

Must dash as early in to work to start playing catch-up here. I'll post some final pictures of my visit/adventures over the weekend when time allows.

RE: A Postcard from Singapore
I am pleased you arrived home safely Peter and had such professional service at hands of your airline. I am sure it must have been a frightening experience.

The shopping experience though looks like something to behold. I would love to go there one day, even if just for a browse! Some of the places I have seen [on the internet] in Japan selling headphones seem to have an equal pulling power too! Big Grin

[you probably don't want to watch all the video, but at around 2mins 20 secs it shows one interesting place!]

So, you are in Singapore now?
Wow! All the way for your holiday and to fix sets of LP12? Any trip to Kuala Lumpur by any chance?

Cheers.

Six days of setting up and two days of sightseeing.... I wouldn't call it a holiday really - Great fun though....... What I got up to yesterday follows BTW.

I had hoped to visit Malaysia, but just not possible this time, so tomorrow I'm visiting the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve insteadSmile

Good to hear that you're OK and safely landed home. Can't wait to see the rest of the setup photos again. The Woodsong plinth, Aro and Keel looks pretty sexy though. And so Rubikon too.

I am wondering how this setup trip working. Were they pre-planned and booked by the owner/buyer? How about the cost of hardware and setup charges? Are they are the same cost as back in the UK? Hope this is not against the forum rule.

Cheers.

lol, I think your photography is fine Peter. Could do a trade, you teach me LP12 set-up and I'll teach you photography ;-)

I haven't tried properly photographing my plinth yet, but I think it will be very difficult to achieve a result which will give it justice.

In future I think we all will be well advised to visit Peter rather than have him visit us!! Tongue

LOL, I was fortunate to be accompanied on my two wildlife trips by a photographer friend (who also uses and LP12 of course). He was just brilliant at spotting birds and I was pretty good at spotting the reptiles and insects. I picked up a few tips and you can see what you think later! – All photographed with my pocket Panasonic LX2.

Believe it or not Harprit is no more than 5m in front of me (centre shot) in this picture! The undergrowth was pretty dense!!Big Grin

But when it comes to getting the real beauty captured from the Harban plinths, I’ll leave you to get the best Count.Smile
