DS Sneaky Kef/ceiling speakers
Hi, I am currently refurbishing my house and as part of this project, run Cat5 cable throughout. And just to get my home audio started, installed a pair of KEF Ci 100QR in the kitchen ceiling. Would they be any good with the DS Sneaky -standalone - ie. no added power amp.
Initially I would just be using for Internet radio and streaming music from my HP NAS. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks |

RE: DS Sneaky Kef/ceiling speakers
I use something similar in my bathroom but use Linn diskreets. I also have a pair installed in the front of a kitchen unit and the front of a bedroom unit. I think these "lifestyle" type installations are practical and sound very acceptable. I expect the Kefs would be similar.

RE: DS Sneaky Kef/ceiling speakers
We regularly use sneakies with ceiling speakers (mainly Linn 104s) and they work brilliantly. Nothing wrong with the power amp section at all - it is very capable.
It should be very enjoyable. Technical Director, What You See And Hear Ltd., Beaconsfield Superior home cinema and sound |

RE: DS Sneaky Kef/ceiling speakers
Yup - great system.
I started with this, then moved to an MDSI into a pair of KEF CI200QR which gives a decent floorstanding system a run for its money! I have this in my living room - it's lovely and I have to say the MDSi moves things on from the Sneaky IMHO. DSi's (DSMs) are available for very good money at present given the latest Majik update to HDMI. Just snagged one for a good price - I think it's a massively underrated device. |
