I have used the pipe insulation only for the power cords (mains) and do each power cord seperately. I don't use this for the speaker wires/interconnects.

I doubt that this insulation has any shielding effect, but they certainly keep the mains away from each other, and the other wires. I have not thought about the fire hazard

I use the 3-4 inch blocks of foam to seperate the interconnects and speaker wires away from each other, and especially away from the power cords

My best result is from keeping everything away from each other, at least 1-2 inches. More is better.
