I use Firefox as there is that excellent No Script addon available for it. I believe there's now one for Chrome (called something like Script No) so I might try Chrome at some stage. Incidentally, I believe the latest Firefox and Chrome both have the new SPDY protocol enabled by default (which is cool as that sounds a potentially promising new feature to speed things up and this will maybe help encourage its wider adoption at the server end) and I believe the next version of Firefox will automatically disable Java unless you have it up to date (which is a really cool security feature and thus a great idea).

Up until last week it was Firefox. Then my laptop died and I bought a new one. It came with Chrome and Explore pre-installed. I removed Chrome (because I don't want to be tracked by Google if I can help it) and then found that I can't remove Explorer, or maybe I haven't worked it out....
Anyway, I installed Opera, an old favourite from years ago when they introduced tabbed browsing. Now they have an integrated email client, and so far I haven't felt the need to download Firefox and Thunderbird. So, do try it, it works for me. Only problem is, I voted earlier, and can't change my vote.... |

You can disable Internet Exploder, but not uninstall it. Bloody Micro$$oft

That option doesn't seem to be there under windoze 7. Anyway, I won't be using it, and I don't need the disk space... so it can stay and be ignored...

Several years ago I thought I'd try Google Chrome.
At the time I though my ISP connection was slow, switching from Firefox to Chrome made me realise it wasn't. Personally Firefox every time. a lot less viruses and I think a better system.
Chrome slow's down computers way too much and I dont want Google tracking every site i visit. too much like big brother!! Firefox allows you to stop tracking and clear the logs every time you log off the net. However some sytems will only allow IE and will not work with other browers, one of the big offenders is HMRC who's electronic tax return system only works with IE. |

Have you tried IE tab for FF? Fools the website in to thinking FF is IE
