Sole VI Sub-chassis
How different are the V and the VI? Can't afford a VI but might be able to stretch to a V...

Very nice plinth

Yes it is one of the nicest 3rd party ones I've seen - beautiful grain :- macassar or (massacar?) ebony I think?

It belongs to one of our customers (Martin M) who has posted his thoughts on this very thread regarding our sub-chassis.

Hi Mike.

The V is 2 x skins of raw 1.5mm structural grade aluminium with a 9mm mdf core. The VI is 2 x 2mm skins of hard anodised structural grade aluminium with a 6mm mdf core.

Construction methods are the same as are the adhesives used, but there are additional enhancements on the VI and it has concealed arm-board attachments with our Ai arm-board.

Regards.

If you're talking about a place I think you are, the LP12 IMO had fallen out of favor some time ago when most of the active members all "moved on" to other turntables. The LP12 over there has now become hated and considered bested by just about any other turntable which I find most ridiculous. The place should be renamed "Audio Relativism". Rolleyes

Be really good if you would be more specific with regard to which forum you refer, so as to avoid any assumption or ambiguity. Interpreting the written word is difficult enough as it is.

Though I do agree with you on this... "The LP12 over there has now become hated and considered bested by just about any other turntable which I find most ridiculous."

I feel much of the venom directed at the LP12 is actually sour grapes aimed at Ivor T and not the TT he marketed so successfully.
