minus the updated chassis ofcourse. i have a chance to buy it 2nd hand. if so, what is a fair price of it? it is 3yrs old/two owner.

It has the dynamik PSU so yes, it is the same. There have been no changes to the audio boards between launch of the x200 amps and now.

as an Akurate 3200 user, the only changes I have seen between the new shape and old shape is;
case design
on/off switch position
Latest version appears to only have 1 cooling fan, the older version has 2.
Audio boards are identical.

thanks.

what is a fair 2nd hand value for this considering it is out of warranty and 2 different owner. the seller even said there is no way to confirm if it is dynamik without opening the case which is why i am a bit nervous. the transaction will be face to face with a private owner with a basic test.

Doesn't the casing say 'Powered by Dynamik' on that first photo?

If it is 3 years old, it probably (just) had Dynamik factory fitted (Juneish 2009 for Dynamik launch???)

If it is only three years old then it will still have two years warranty in the region where it was first sold - you can check with Linn customer services against the serial number. Also the X on the model sticker on the underside means that it was dealer X-DEM.

For a cash deal face to face then no more than £1500

With multiple previous owners, do check physically if it has a dynamik power supply installed inside. With a sticker saying 'powered by dynamik' it has been supplied aftermarket with a Dynamik, but could also be retrofitted with the old PS board again.

Without the dynamik PS it would be worth approx. GBP 300 less, so I would make sure it's there. Just remove 4 screws underneath and the lid comes off. 5 Minutes of work that can save you a lot of trouble or cash.
When the current owner not being the original one, he also may have bought the unit in good faith with the sticker underneath but possibly without a dynamik PS.

This would matter more to me than an eventual remaining warranty.

Might be worth emailing Linn with the serial number to double-check the warranty registration date approximately ties in with the claimed age as well. They're very efficient answering queries.

thanks, i will try to get the serial and ask linn if it was sold with dynamik or upgraded.

how much does it cost (from the dealer) to upgrade this model to dynamic incase it doesn't have the upgrade?

If there is a sticker underneath it is always upgraded afterwards.
If it has 'powered with dynamik' engraved on the case, it has been factory fitted.

Only guarantee if it's actually there, is when you look inside.

Don't know UK prices, but here in The Netherlands an upgrade costs 590 euros, which relates to approx. 480 GBP.
