Need urgent help - Espeks not working in passive mode

I have a Classe amp on loan for a day. I've always been curious how the Espeks will sound passive driven by high quality powerful amps like KCT, Solos, but only managed to get the Classe on loan.

Going from single passive to biamp passive to triamp passive to active on the Espeks - I did this all by myself, so i am quite familiar with the board flipping thing.

DS direct to Classe amp into a pair of B&W bookshelf speakers works just fine.

I change nothing and unplug the speaker cable from the B&W and plug into Espeks configured single passive and no sound. The board at teh back says "Espek Single Amp Passive" and I am using the bottom right terminals as per manual.

I also tried passive bi-amp with the boards flipped to that configuration. No sound.

I put everything back together with the 6100 active and it is all fine.

Any ideas?

Hi stunta,
possibly the easiest fault … and solution –> you have to refit all the ´connector holding
collars´, not only the two at the bottom right for a ´single wired´ configuration.

Are you stacking the unused boards behind the passive boards?

What happens if you use the passive bi amp boards bi wired?

The only time I experienced the same problem, I hadn't fitted all the boards and all the binding post nuts.

I don't know the Espeks at all but silly question - do they need link plates between some of the connectors that would otherwise be removed for multi-wiring / aktive. ?

You guys rock! I had to put all the collars back and it worked!

As usual I was being lazy and only put the required 2 back because I would be switching it the boards again after returning the classe.

It's worth trying your amp passive bi wire. my espeks sounded much better than single wired.

Thanks Pete. The passive crossovers must be very rusty so I am going to let this run overnight first.

Ah f it, I will go biwire right now....
