Songbox - can it read other media directories as well as iTunes?
I've a bunch of FLAC files in other folders that I've bought and would like Songbox to be the only media server I use. Thanks |

I noticed that. Is there a chance it will see expansion?
It dos play the iTunes directory very well. But my FLAC files aren't in there, as, well, iTunes doesn't do FLAC.... unfortunately. |

I guess, until Linn update it, we need to run something like Twonky at the same time

Well, good thing is they do run in parallel! I have Logitech Media Server and SongBox running at the same time without a problem. This allows me to access my whole database: the FLAC files through LMS and the ALAC files in my iTunes through SB. Not very convenient, but at least I have access to everything again!

Why not convert the flac files to Apple Lossless and put them in your iTunes library? |

I thought iTunes would only play 16bit files.
My FLAC stuff is generally 24 bit and higher than 48khz |

Then that sounds like the perfect solution!
Will it also play higher sampling rates than the 48000 that my ripped CDs are? |

Up to 192? That would be awesome.
