Majik skips FLAC 24/192 Tracks
This is a first for my 3000+ album collection.
For two newly acquired albums in 24/192 resolution, my Majik only plays two (respectively one) of the six album tracks and skips the others.
Foobar does not show this effect, so the files seem to be ok.

Could there be some sort of timeout problem between the Majik and the QNAP/Twonky?

Any other ideas?

If you're using a PC, try checking them with Audiotester:-

You can use the Foobar "File integrity verifier" plugin to proof the integrity of your files. If the files are valid decoding from FLAC to FLAC may help.

Majik skips FLAC 24/192 Tracks
I was planning on starting a topic this weekend regarding an identical problem with 24/192 versions of the initial batch of Blue Note titles from HDTracks.

The short story is that the same tracks that were skipped by a Klimax Renew and a Majik DS-I failed a scan via Audiotester. What happens is that the failed tracks "lose sync" at 00m 00s.

This is the first time it's happened to me as well. So far, HDTracks is taking a "head in the sand" approach to resolving this.

I'm curious, which titles are giving you grief?

That's exactly the issue I had with a Wayne Shorter album purchased from HDTracks - four of the six tracks skipped and Audiotester said they lost sync at 00m 00s, which is why I suggested Audiotester above.
All the tracks played fine with VLC player on my PC, and while I should have thought to try FLAC-FLAC, I actually went FLAC-WAV-FLAC, which included an unneeded step, but be that as it may, everything is now fine.

Thanks so much for all your advice.

A FLAC-FLAC conversion via foobar reported "FLAC stream corrupted", however, the resulting files at least play on the Majik. I am a little worried though about these error messages and the between 7% and 8% smaller files sizes.

BTW, the new Horace Silver and Wayne Shorter albums from HDTracks were causing the problems.

I wouldn't worry about file size; it's probably simply that HDTracks may have used a different level of compression to foobar, but as they're lossless files it won't matter.

RE: Majik skips FLAC 24/192 Tracks
Same for me on 192/24 Maiden Voyage by Herbie Hancock from Blue Note. MDSi only plays track 2, tracks 1,3,4,5 are corrupted. I tested file integrity with FLAC Tester, and it shows that the tracks in question are faulty indeed.

I also converted the files with foobar to ~5% smaller FLAC files which will play without problems, and do sound good to my ears. However, this is not what I expect from premium downloads at a premium price. This is what I told HDTracks about it, and I'm still waiting for their answer.

BTW, I also find it disturbing that HDTracks do not use maximum FLAC compression on their files. Very unprofessional.

RE: Majik skips FLAC 24/192 Tracks
It is HDTracks Download manager. I complained to them and they sent me separate links to every track and voila everything works perfectly. I something was wrong the the track time was 28:45 for a 3 minute song :-)

Some versions of Twonky mis-report the length of hi-res tracks. That may be the cause of this
