KIko Night at Lyric Hi-Fi
Thanks to George from Linn and Michael from Lyric Hi-Fi in Belfast for hosting tonight's dem of the Kiko and other nice toys. Nice to drink some decent wine at these things, for a change! George confirmed that the DS ecosystem that a lot of us whinge about (myself included) is accepted as being suboptimal, and that there are plans to include the type of functionality that is currently available in the Logitetch / ipeng control point. All of you DS owners out there, you have the capability to register on the beta test group, and influence how you want the CP aspect of the system to evolve - so at least Linn are willing to listen. The Kiko itself is a very compact unit, and for a second system would easily slot into the shelf under you TV. Soundwise, it had the traditional Linn hallmarks of clarity and smoothness - maybe s little too much of the latter for my taste - although to be fair, I was listening standing up, and the speakers were firing somewhere around hip level. Nice to meet some new people and listen to some new music. Now, the Klimax 350As that I caressed as I left ..... Would love to meet those beauties again .... In my living room .
