My ADSM is currently operating on Davaar 5, but keeps asking if I want to upgrade to 8.Any reason not to?

P.S. Having problems with Kinsky Desktop ( see separate post) - don't know if upgrade will just complicate things.

I updated my ADSM to Davaar 7 not knowing anything about it just thought it needed to be done. The upshot is that everything sounds better ! So much so that I am listening a lot just to be sure as I was not expecting anything to be different. Dont know anything about davaar 8 though - I thought that was an update for Konfig

Go for it. Davaar 7 is reported by most people as the best sounding and Davaar 8 is just updates for the Renew ADS so will only be offered to ADS users and presumably will be identical to Davaar 7 in all other respects.

Can't believe more has not been made of this.

I went from 7 to 8 last week and it's like having a brand new product

My ADS/1 has never sounded this good and I've never heard my music sound this good.

What ever happens with firmware moving forward adding new features, if they don't sound like this, I will go back everytime.

The soundstage has become 3 dimensional and instruments just sound real. No harshness just every timbre and nuance. It'd dynamic, sweet sounding.

Very analogue.

Everything sounds real. Really happy.

Are you saying there have been sound improvements in 8 compared to 7? To me this is a little surprising. I thought 8 was purely to accomodate the ADS Renew?

Very rarely is anything said re change in sound.

Try it for yourself, see how it effects your setup.

You can always go back. One or two others that have changed are noticing possative differences.

I try everyone and end up with which sounds the best to me, that maybe the latest or the one I was happy with previously.

I would suggest trying. You may not like it

But as said previously, to my ears in my system the change is as big as changing from the ADS/0 to ADS/1. It's like a new DS

Open Options
GoTo Updates
Klick Participate in beta programm
Restart Konfig and Install any available beta update
Reflash
