Shut off ADSM during software update
I accidentally shut off my ADSM during a software update that did not go through (it was in the midst of a fallback). Now, my ADSM will not even power up. Has anyone done this before, and what is the remedy?

Thanks!

Hi

Don't bother, I have done exactly the same thing with my ADS, and I thought it was definitively broken! Then, I phoned to Linn, and they send me by e-mail a little paper explaining how to do to reboot it.

In fact, it is very simple: if you look well, behind your ADS, you have a little "hole". Just put the end of a pen inisde, push, and the ADS will come back to life - just like some computers, or a iPhone or iPod if you have one.

Tested: everything back to normality!!

Aouchh, really scared this time before having the solution!

Have a good week-end

Thanks so much. I pushed the "Fallback" button on the back and the ADSM is acting like my children when I catch them doing something...it's sitting there silently, and blinking at me incessantly. Been doing that for over an hour. Won't register on Konfig.

More work to be done I suppose...

RE: Shut off ADSM during software update
We (I'll say we, but it "wasn't me guv, I didn't touch nothing") killed our ADSM during the update yesterday - totally dead, no display or signs of life. Pressing the Fallback button got it going again - there is a slightly different procedure to update the unit (involving downloading a zip file first - see Linn Docs for details - http://docs.linn.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Ko...pdating.3F ).

However, if your unit is still just giving you the blinking dot - it suggests it isn't getting an IP address? Is it wired straight into your router? Did you power cycle the unit before trying the fallback?

Hope you get things going again!

RE: Shut off ADSM during software update
Glad you got it sorted!

It's always a bit scary when you have a bricked product (or one that appears to be) - I have to say though, Linn products are always recoverable via the fallback in my experiences.
