If you want the javascript for email addresses I think I have it on the PC somewhere. I'll PM it to you if I can find it

Ah, OK. I'm familiar with Javascript tricks; I just thought someone had come up with a new sneaky idea.

Java is to Javascript as ham is to hamster. Smile

Out of curiosity, I went to the website of "solidwoodkitchens" - it turns out their website is illegal, as there is no statement of ownership, VAT registration, company registration or address of registered office.

So, I've dobbed them in to Companies House. Fine of £5,000 headed their way for breach the Companies Act as amended 2007. Smile

I am a Mod on a forum that gets 20/30 or more spammers a day trying to join.
They are held in a inbox until there email address is checked.
They cant post until they have been cleared.
Its a very easy thing to set up.
One just has to look and delete the Trolls and spammers..
The valid people that want to join you clear them with a email and let them join.
Simple.
It also stops the same person joining under different/multiple names.(There has been a lot of that in the LP12 room this year by people just wanting to start trouble.)
Lots of forums use this process.
Why Linn does not is beyond me?
Also a word of warning,
Never be tempted to open a spammers link.
There are Lots of horrible links out there that can mess up ones computers with just one click.

Totally agree Mud. There are several 'pending' methods around, easy to implement, and very effective.

Isn't it strange how many birthdays there are today. I wonder if all spammers were born today? (rhetorical question. Generally they are. Its the way spambots work)
