Active Tukans on a Keltik XO
Anyone knows whether this experimental setup may work?
Tukans share the same treble/mid drivers so in theory........Smile

Don´t have Tukans yet, otherwise I´d already have tried to make this bird sing...

Well you'll get absolutely no bass, since the Tukans' mid/bass drivers will get a rolled off midrange signal.

Why bother? Aktiv cards specific for the Tukans are readily available in several different flavors including, rumor has it, KXO.

Owning KXO for Keltiks I also have the user manual. On page 11 the manual gives the switch positions and gains for "Kelidh, 5120, Tukan and Sekrit". However I know none of those speakers so all this means is someone at Linn had Tukans in mind when the KXO was designed. Maybe asking the helpline is the right way.

Killerkeltiks, KK, KDS, KCTs, Oppo 105, QNAP 439 Pro II

Sometimes it´s just nice to be thinking outside the box, especially when they´re a big as Keltiks or precious as KXOs

Hi Marco.

This suggestion was made a little tongue in cheek Rolleyes

However, disconnecting the bass signal cable between KXO and amp would give you a very rough idea of how it might sound SmileBig Grin

Let us know.

RE: Active Tukans on a Keltik XO
Klimax xovers were available for Tukans. I believe there was a market for them in Japan.

Main: Exakt Klimax 350, Oppo 105.

Second: Majik DSi connected to 109's in the kitchen, and Akurate 212's in the office, both driven by Tundra Stereo 1.2.

Probably then just one XO for the 2-way Tukan design?
Same as with Katans.

I wonder how many Linn made to that spec.

A great thing for the tiny housed Japanese that have a weak spot for ultimate technology.
They make their own malts as well but that´s another story....

Thanks flat. I'd never heard of them being available for the Tukans.

I bet Marco is scouring the Japanese Linn forums' classifieds as I type Big Grin
Hope Google translate is up to the job !!
