Forgive me if i offended anyone...that was not my intention. You have Always been extremely helpful both online as well as offline. Its just frustrating sometimes to hear of all these dealers with klimax gear, multiple lp12s, klimax 350s, komris, etc on display and offering on "that" side of the pond, and ive yet to see that here (Except in Puerto Rico..that place is amazing!!!)) With any luck ill be able to make it to David's event. Again my apologies if i ruffled any feathers

Not any more....

Current financial conditions and the change in Linn's North America selling strategy (meaning Tannoy as distributor) have also impacted the local dealer and they had to rethink their Linn strategy. There is no Radikal/Urika for demo here and there are no near term plans to demo it.

Big demo room is not Linn gear anymore... Sad

RE: Radikal - heard it! WOW
Anyone heard the Akurate Radikal yet? Is there really no difference in performance between Klimax and Akurate Radikal? Putting the Radikal on a good rack makes a considerable improvement so why doesn't the casing?

Are you saying the Klimax case the Radikal is in is effected by it's sited position?

Hello antnick, This is Accent on Music. We have been a Linn/Naim dealer for almost 20 years and have been selling the products for over 30 years on two continents. We are located in Mount Kisco NY, 10549 and have been known to hold some musical evenings. Sometime in the next month or as soon as the Radikal and Urika arrive we plan a whole weekend of demonstrations. We shall be showcasing the new products for the LP12, Aro/Keel, all the Linn DS line, Naim Nait XS,HDX and UNITI and the Dynavector DRT XV-1 and Transfiguration Orpheus cartridges. We also hope to have a few manufacturers representatives for the occasion.
Presently we have on demo a Linn LP12/Keel/EkosSE/Akiva/Lingo/Linto and a Linn LP12/Aro/Akiva/Superline. I shall be posting when the event is to take place. In the meantime if you would like a demo of the equipment we have on demo all you have to do is make an appointment.
We look forward to meeting many forum members.

David

David;

Good to see you participating, perhaps an ipod is next?

From what I can gather there are a number of forum participants located in the US and specifically in the Northeast. I am sure we all look forward to hearing how much better our LP12's can sound with just a few dollars more of additional investment.

Rgds, DL.

RE: Radikal - heard it! WOW
Any comments from our UK dealers as I know of at least two who have Radikals in readiness for their Linn evenings this week and one of them is active on this forum?

Unfortunately I can't make it to my local dealer this Thursday for their evening.

That's a pity as I've been setting up everything today and interestingly Polarbear, well known on many forums called in to see me as he was passing and was so moved with what he heard, he posted about it on the Naim Forum earlier!

Praise indeed from a die hard TMS ownerSmile

Kind regards,

Peter

RE: Radikal - heard it! WOW
To be more precise I heard the Klimax case Radikal and Urika at Chris Brooks Audio in Stockton Heath (Warrington UK) yesterday.

The system used was Klimax 350A speakers, Klimax Kontrol updated, and two maxed out Lp12s. One with Radikal/Urika, one with Linto/Lingo2. We played 50s Johnny Ray, 60s John Mayall, 80s Rolling Stones, Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen and many others. In each and every case the improvement was immediately obvious. Improved tempo, loads more detail, lower noise floor, more tuneful, more communicative, easier to listen to, seemingly much closer to the master tape. I could hear Johnny Ray's distinctive articulation and misplaced aspirates quite clearly and could visualise his unusual jaw movements as if he was there in front of us.

Well done to the guys at Linn for improving a classic.

If you can afford it, buy it.

Just nipped over to read the stuff on the Naim forum. Interestingly, a demo using two Klimax Radikals independently powering the motor and Urika sounds better than one powering both (contrary to Linn's advice). Smacks of twin Lintos.....but that set me thinking.

For a similar outlay, would two Akurate Radikals powering the separate components (motor/phono stage) sound better than one Klimax Radikal powering both???
