Thank you so much for taking the time to make that list. Great suggestions.
I went to the Sound Liaison site and started with downloading the free downloads from the After Silence and the Thousand Shades of Blue album and after listening have now bought both albums.
Very impressive sound and musicianship.

Just one little comment, I have the excellent Doug Macleod album as well (HD Tracks hi-res download) and indeed his voice does shift a little from left to right and back while singing, but so does the sound of Andre Heuvelmans trumpet.
I believe it has to do with the ''old fashioned'' or classical recording technique that both these companies use, which is to use a main stereo microphone in front of the band and then using a spot microphone when an instrument needs a little help.
It is a little bit unusual but I do like the liveliness it creates, maybe more so with the trumpet than with the voice.
The Carmen Gomes album does not suffer from that, probably she moves less than MacLeod when she sings.
The sound of the Reference Recordings and the Sound Liaison albums does indeed have a lot in common.
I know that the Macleod album was recorded in George Lucas, (Starwars,) big studio and apparently the Sound Liaison guys has access to a hall of equally beautiful sound. Great to see this kind of recordings coming back,
and this kind of musicians too. Real Sound, Real Music.

Most of my albums sound great that are streamed, especially 24/96
Good to see the Steely Dan albums on your list, I could easily have put them on mine too.But at the moment I am very much into recordings that sound as they have the musicians playing in the same room, that's why you see all them old LP's on my list. But I am a big Steely Dan fan too and I agree that their albums are always exceptionally well recorded and produced.
I do not know the Rachel Podger version of La Stravaganza,
is that from channel classic's?

Just realized I need to respond. Yes, it is the Channel Classics version

Exakt Surround 5.0:
Katalyst Akubariks, AEDSM, Akurate Exaktbox 6/4200 for 225 Centre, Majik Exaktbox I for 212 Surrounds, OPPO 105 on StillPoints.
Power: Environmental Potentials 2460, Shunyata Triton, Zitron Cobras, Alpha Digitals
Room Acoustics: SPACE, SubDude HT's, Acoustic Panels

RE: My 20 best SOUNDING album's, (all formats)
Good to see Joni's Travelogue on your list.

It is my impression that it is a very underrated recording by many Joni fans.
In my local record the usually well informed owner thought it was a best of of old recordings.
I think the marketing of the album probably went a bit wrong.
And it did not help that some critics where very negative...Rolling Stone:
This bizarre two-disc recording finds the loftiest of singer-songwriters collaborating with a seventy-piece orchestra, revisiting her past work. The arrangements treat Mitchell's tunes as precious artifacts, making little attempt to seduce the listener; only on "The Circle Game," for example, do the strings provide the kind of romantic sonic brocades associated with great orchestral rock. Mitchell — in strong, ultraconfident voice — proceeds with her famous jazz inflections, delineating characters such as "Cherokee Louise," who lives under a tunnel. But, the occasional sax flourish notwithstanding, the music does not swing or get loose. Sometimes the album sounds wrongly monumental, as on "Woodstock"; other times, it misses the boat, as on "The Last Time I Saw Richard," which ignores the song's thrilling harmonics. Travelogue translates Joni Mitchell as a scrupulously constructed puzzle.
ahh... critics what do they know?
I love the album and I think it has stood the test of time.

For pure audio sound, especially 5.1, I would listen to the Blu-Ray audio of Patricia Barber - Modern Cool. Stunning sound.
Recent downloads I would mention are Agnus Obel - Aventine and Gregory Porter - Liquid Spirit both available from Linn.
I would also recommend Miloš Karadaglic - Aranjuez.

Agree with many others
Dire Straits - Brother In Arms SACD or DVDA 5.1
Pink Floyd - DSOTM & WYWH SACD 5.1

AND my best stereo surprise of recent must be Sex Pistols - NMTB on SACD ..... Cool just has the edge on the Blu-ray audio.

Frankly there are so many that it realy is difficult to pick a top 5..

Mozart
KDS1, KK2, Marantz AV8802a, Universal Blu-Ray: OPPO BDP-105EU
K350a (high gloss)
Dynamik Majik 6100 - Aktiv Ninka, Aktiv Trikan
Panasonic TX-P55VT30B 3D HD
