RE: What phones can you use to control your DS?
I hate the branding of Apple, and they products are over-priced. Ever tried to change a battery on an iTouch? I hope Nokia 5800 (a nice touch screen phone for my simple GPS-use) will do the work, but have not made any test
LP12, Acurate DS, Exotic II pre, Majik p6100 power, Espek active (love them!). Genki, Karin pre, LK100, Sekrit free-standing speakers (sounds great!). |

The battery problem is a different one, agreed the iPod touch and iPhone do not have the option of interchanging batteries. However, setting up a DS system we will surely have to learn how to start using these "smarter" devices to control our systems. The use of the standard IR remote controls are over, remember the ones that will have battery power for months on end. I don't see myself sitting down listening to music and then getting up swapping the battery of my N800. I would just place it on charge. To get an extra battery for the N800 will not be a problem, I just don't like the idea of changing batteries on these devices. As SmartPhone are becoming more like laptops it becomes a pain to shut them down. (boot times etc..) At the moment I have four remote controls for the DS, as standard IR, which is only good for volume and managing a preloaded playlist. iPhones X 2, the wife an I. And then the N800. Not counting the two computers. I guess we have more choice in what we want to control with, removing the need to have a battery swapping device? Enjoy the music....
