FLAC-Settings
Hello
my first post. Did a search on the forum, but didn't find the answer. I plan to Rip my CD-collection to use later on with sneaky DS. My platform is mac, so I use Max. What are the best settings to choose for FLAC to play over sneaky DS? Thanks Gaudenz |

RE: FLAC-Settings
Since flac is a lossless codec, there aren't any settings that affect audio quality. There are loads of command line options allowing configuration of metadata contents and their storage, but this is (likely) taken care of for you by max. I've not personally used max, but I'd imagine that the default flac settings are entirely appropriate. What options are you given?

RE: FLAC-Settings
Hi!
My preferences for ripping are: - cdparanoia - full paranoia - 20 trials - 3 conformances - check for C2 mistakes LP12 (Radikal/Keel/EkosSE/Lyra Helikon)/Urika/Akurate DS/Klimax Kontrol/4 Solo's/Cambridge Audio BD650/Majik Isobarik/Qnap TS-109/SilentWire & Nordost - now in heaven with Radikal/Urika |

RE: FLAC-Settings
thanks for the replies.
My question is specific for the encoder preferences under format. There is a pulldown-menu to set the compressionrate. Default is 5. Does this really not influence the qualitiy? If not so the better. |

RE: FLAC-Settings
No effect on quality, just less disk space used and longer times (not by much) to rip & encode the files.
