Yes, they are a thing of beauty, mine is sort of the opposite of yours in that it is all the original 1978 parts...except for arm board, springs and grommets.
They were added about 16 years ago with the Ekos 2.
Everything else is almost 40 years old and played almost every day. Smile

Original 1978 Fluted Afromosia LP12, Ekos 2, Lyra Kleos SL and lots of other stuff from the 70's that still work fine.

Really impressed with the Simrak. Great quality, craftsmanship together with simple construction. Also a really good match to the Linn standard plinth; for mine is in gorgeous maple wood. Sourced from the great team at Cymbiosis and superbly crafted by Simon Price.

Stunning...I never saw a Woodsong plinth I didn't like. Smile

I still think he has magic fairies helping him in the woods. Big Grin

That is stunning, indeed. It's hard to believe that started life as a piece of tree Sad

Out of interest. Where do people's personal colour preferences lie? There is no right answer here. It's personal. Chris will probably shoot me for my lack of correct terminology & one accepts that grain is more important to some than colour.

Do you prefer the dark nutty browns, the light browns, the yellowy browns, the yellows, the creamy yellows, the reds or black?

Any color if it's a plinth made by Chris...although I would probably buy a cocobolo or bubinga.

Then again the maple has a very modern look to it...

Could I have one of each please...??? Rolleyes

Yes ~ Chris' plinths are stunning. I've had my plinth made in natural ash with about a "teak" look from the chart above. Wondering if I should change it's colour to cocobola. But then it would be fake. Also love Chris' Ferrari maple.

You answered you own question...natural is better for those of us that like natural. Smile
